We took Lao Airlines for our Luang Prabang - Hanoi flight. A light snack was served on board, inside a cute package featuring Vientiane's Pha That Luang stupa:
Our flight arrived in Vietnam as the sun was about to set. Upon alighting from the plane, a shuttle took us to the main arrival area of the airport. Customs and immigration were a breeze.
We booked the pick up service from the hotel since we didn't want to take our chance with public transport in a new country, especially with our flight arriving at night.
It was about an hour drive from Noi Bai airport to the Old Quarter of Hanoi, but we were very comfortable in the car the hotel provided for us. The drive reminded us of driving from Clark (DMIA) airport to Manila back in the Philippines.
After checking in, we walked a couple of blocks to visit Pho Ly Quoc Su, one of the most popular pho restaurants in the Old Quarter.
We ordered the Chin which is well-done beef noodle. It was such a comforting, hot meal before we called it a night.
Staying at HE4 makes us say that this hotel lives up to its standard of being the Number 1 hotel in Hanoi. We would give the extra star in excess of five for their kindness, service, and accommodation. They really go the extra mile in to make your stay memorable.
These pics were actually taken the next day since it was already dark when we checked in. Welcome drinks were served, and the Reception officer gave us a map to explain the important sites of the Old Quarter. There were about 5-6 people who accommodated us before actually going inside our room. Now that's what you call SERVICE!!
We had a very beautiful, clean, and cozy double room.
It's amazing how much they can fit in a small amount of space since the hotel itself stands on a very minimal amount of land. The rooms were very well-appointed.
Nicely-designed bathroom with hot hot HOT shower. :)
Hanoi walks will start tomorrow. :)
