Not too long now...

After being on a countdown since December, we are four days away from our dream trip!! This is going to take two weeks and will cover 5 countries and a city in each. Originally we planned to visit two cities each in some of the countries, that would bring us to 9 cities... but later on decided on spending quality time in each city (a good three or four days) rather than jamming our schedules and spending a hurried day and a half in each. This is going to be a DIY kind of trip, probably going to join a few tours and follow some recommended walking tours. One thing
for sure is that we will be taking our sweet time!!! :)

Our backpacks are ready, as well as a First Aid Kit. D's going to use a Deuter Aircontact 45+10, while I'm going to use a Deuter Aircontact 40+10SL. (Deuter SL models were made for women, its best feature, in my opinion, are the slimmer shoulder straps.)

After several trips together this is the first time we're going to use backpacks..I've been practicing carrying mine for a while now, hoping I won't look awkward having it on my back when its time to go.. We'd like to call it a "backpacking" trip but so far I don't think we've scrimped on anything--from tickets, to accommodations -- we will take six plane rides and stay in six different hotels.. Suffice to say we're merely using the backpacks for portability during our walks and transfers..

Trying our best to pack as little as possible.. Who knew toiletries alone could reach 1.5 kilos?

Our tickets and hotel reservations:

Th
ese are actually only a few of the printouts we're taking with us.. We still have some travel guides, sample tours, maps, and more..

Days were spent poring over these books:
We don't actually intend to carry all of these with us. They just weigh too much. We've heard that you can actually trade your books for another in certain countries, but these travel books are really expensive where we got them.. So we decided to make photocopies of the chapters we're going to need, and dispose of them later along the way.

I have yet to scan and print copies of our passports, credit cards and other documents.. No visas were needed during this trip as we are coming from the Philippines which is an ASEAN Country.

Quoting someone we've met recently.. You can never be TOO READY enough for anything in this life.. But I'm pretty certain Lady Luck is with us again during this trip!!

Cheerios!
