We took the earliest AirAsia flight to Bangkok, and got the Smoked Chic Foccacia as an add-on meal. It was okay, though we only consumed one of the sandwiches as we were still full from the packed croissant from HE4.
We took a cab from the line at the arrival area, which took us straight to Khao San Road!!! We didn't know what experience to expect from this area, but we heard that all people who go here have a BLAST!
This was where we stayed, Rikka Inn. :)
We had a very nice and spacious room, with a great view of all the fun downstairs! Noise wasn't a problem as the hotel had double-glazed windows.
By midday, pad thai and spring roll vendors line the street. This lady vendor gamely smiled as we took her shot while she was cooking our pad thai.
Bangkok street food!!! So yummy!
We come from a tropical country but still it was so hot we decided to stay inside the hotel, and come out before dinner. We found a nice restaurant at the road parallel to Khao San, called Suk Sabai.
The live music was good, and the food was great as well. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao and Pad Thai.
Khao San was a very happy place, so near our country and yet worlds away!!
We wanted to enjoy Khao San's lively vibe, so we took a table at the seats below our hotel and started people-watching...
:)
